be the best version of you with Aesthetics by Lucy J

Wrinkle Reducing Treatments

We have various treatments available to tackle your wrinkle concerns. Whether it's reversing the signs of ageing or preventing the signs of ageing, we can help make your skin appear fresher and more glowy. Book in for your free, personalised consultation today.

Volume Restoring Treatments

As we age, we lose volume from our faces at various levels including bone reabsorption, facial fat pad and muscle atrophy (loss). As a result of this, we tend to notice our features starting to droop/sag. Book in for a free consultation to discuss what can be done in order to restore our youthful contours and plump glow.

Collagen Stimulating Treatments

Collagen is a protein and a crucial structural building block of our skin. Collagen helps to keep our skin firm, hydrated and plump/glowy. From as early as our mid-20s, we start to lose collagen by approximately 1% per year, this is why we start to notice our skin losing elasticity and fine lines and wrinkles begin to appear. At Aesthetics by Lucy J, we offer a wide range of advanced and science-backed collagen stimulating treatments to help bring life back to your skin and to prevent further signs of ageing. Whether it be micro-needling with exosomes or PDRN (salmon sperm), Rejuran (polynucleotides) or bio-remodelling, there's an option for you. Book in for your free consultation to discover your tailored treatment plan.

Skin Hydrating Treatments

As we get older, our skin tends to become more dehydrated, especially if we spend a lot of time in the sun or go through menopause. We offer treatments that help rehydrate your skin and bring back that healthy glow, especially useful when wanting to look your best for a special event, wedding or trip! Book in for your free consultation to discuss further.

IMPORTANT TREATMENT INFORMATION CTD.

Volumising Treatment Information

• Volumising treatments typically show immediate results following the procedure. While you’ll notice an initial enhancement in appearance, some temporary swelling is normal. The final result will gradually refine over the next 2 to 4 weeks as the product settles and the swelling subsides—this is when the outcome will appear its most natural.

• Results will differ between individuals and depend on a variety of factors including your starting facial volume, skin laxity, sun exposure, biological age, and overall skin health. The amount of product used in your initial treatment is usually a conservative estimate, designed to achieve subtle improvement. If more volume is desired, additional product can be added at a later stage—this will be charged separately.

• The longevity of results also varies from person to person. A helpful way to monitor your progress is by comparing before and after photos. In general, thicker or more volumising products tend to last between 12 to 18 months, depending on the treatment area, the amount used, and your personal goals.

Risks and complications related to the above

Expected (Common) Downtime – Likely to Occur in All Patients:

• Mild discomfort during the injection process is normal.
• You may feel lumps, firmness, or uneven texture under the skin for 2–4 weeks following treatment. This is usually due to the volumising product and temporary swelling, both of which gradually settle over time.
• Swelling in the treated area is expected. For example, the lips are particularly prone to noticeable swelling for 3–7 days, even with small amounts of volumising product. Swelling can also be asymmetrical while the treatment is settling in.
• Bruising at the injection sites can occur. While large or obvious bruises are uncommon, they cannot be completely avoided. If you're overly concerned by facial bruising, you should carefully consider whether these treatments are right for you before proceeding.

Less Common Side Effects:

• Infections or abscesses may occur, requiring medical management such as long-term antibiotics. In rare cases, surgical drainage may be needed, which carries a risk of permanent scarring.
• Delayed-onset nodules refer to temporary, often unpredictable swelling at the site of previous volumising product placement. These may develop months or even years after treatment and are typically triggered by unrelated illnesses or infections (e.g. flu, dental issues, UTIs). Most resolve once the illness passes, but persistent cases may require medical management—such as steroids, treatment dissolving, or referral to a specialist dermatologist for treatment options including surgical excision.
• Granulomas are rare, chronic, firm lumps that can only be confirmed via biopsy. They may require specialised treatment such as ultrasound-guided dissolving, steroid injections, or referral to a dermatologist for ongoing care.

Very Rare but Serious Risks:

• Vascular occlusion with or without skin necrosis: This occurs when volumising product blocks a blood vessel. It requires urgent treatment with dissolving agents to prevent permanent skin damage (necrosis). Prompt recognition and action are critical.
• Blindness: This extremely rare complication (estimated at 1 in 250,000 or less) occurs if voluimising product enters the blood vessels supplying the eye. Immediate dissolving injections will be administered to attempt to restore circulation. Urgent referral to an oculoplastic surgeon and rapid transfer to Sydney Eye Hospital will be arranged where possible.
• Stroke: Even rarer still, a stroke could theoretically occur if volumising material enters the brain’s circulation. In this event, emergency care will be coordinated at a tertiary hospital.

Before your Volumising Treatment...

You must not plan on flying within the following two weeks post-procedure.

If you're feeling unwell (e.g. cold, flu, sinus infection, UTI, allergies) or taking antibiotics, please delay your treatment by at least 2 weeks. This may be extended to 4+ weeks depending on the severity—contact us if unsure.

  • Being unwell increases the risk of complications such as infection, swelling, or lumps.

  • Dental or surgical procedures (e.g. fillings, crowns, implants, biopsies, general anaesthetic) should be done at least 2 weeks before your filler appointment, once you're fully healed.

  • These precautions help reduce the risk of bacteria entering the bloodstream and causing serious issues.

  • If you're unwell or have had a recent procedure, please contact us to reschedule—we’re happy to help.
